SINGAPORE 2008

The 2nd country I visited... Singapore!
This time I'm with 5 of my friends and we stayed at our friends' house who are working there.
Here are our list of itinerary.
Day 1 - Explore the city/visited the merlion /temple/ride the Singapore flyer
Day2 -Jurong Bird Park (beautiful exotic birds and great show)/Have dinner in Clarke Quay (place to hang-out/with restaurants, shops and bars)
Day3-Singapore Zoo/ Sentosa (songs of the sea -a must see!)
We spent around PHP15,000 each (includes activities, food and transport, shopping, except airfare) for our 5 day tour (PHP1 = US$48 during that time) which also includes the 1 day Malaysia tour in my next post. It would have cost us more since our lodging is free (thanks to our friend who is also our tour guide..hehe). The food there is quite expensive (well at least for us Filipinos) around SG$6 to SG$10 a meal. I bought a book (new moon) it cost me almost twice the price here in the Philippines (by the way I'm an avid fan of the twilight series;)). However, the electronics and perfumes there are cheap...I bought JLo perfume and external drive..
The transportation is very convenient. The common modes of transport are the train, bus and taxi. They have a storage card which you can use to pay for both bus and train.
I would say that it's a very clean and organize country. They have very strict rules like no eating/smoking in buses and taxis. There's no traffic jam, air pollution plus every train station has a shopping mall!
Since the country is quite small, I would say that 3 to 4 days stay is enough to tour the place. I would highly recommend visiting Sentosa (a theme park) which is a fun way to learn more about their culture and heritage, get to ride the luge and sky ride and see the amazing show "songs of the sea".
